| Principle of Operation |
| Gun-Drilling operation is a highly specialised drilling operation involving the process of drilling a deep hole. This concept is applied to drill holes from 0.8 mm to 30 mm upto a depth of 100 -200 times the drilling diameter. In most cases, it is used to drill holes starting from 3 mm to 16 mm. In Gundrilling construction, the high pressure coolant enters the cutting zone through the coolant hole in the lool. It then flows out through the V profile of the tool taking with it swarf/ chips and the heat generated. The burnishing surface of Ihe Gundrill helps in maintaining the circularity and the surface roughness of the hole. The geometry is so cut on the tool face which helps in feeding of the tool inside the metal. Typically a Tolerance of IT9 or ITl 0 and a Surface roughness of N6 can be achieved from Gundrlling operation. |
| Scope of Customisation |
At Paras we offer a complete solution in form of Tailor made Gundrilling machine. Tailor made fixturing for rigid clamping of the various components and for error free location and repealability POKA-YOKE on the critical aspects of the machine to ensure error free running. During Design stage, various TPM/ TQM, Quick Setup change and Loading/ Unloading factors are considered lo reduce Ihe waste time and thus decrease the FTP time. Various sensors are used in the process to prevent tool breakage or tool wear or otherfactors which govern the quality of operation. The components like sensors, ball screw, controls etc.. are decided keeping in mind the cuslomer's consent for the same.
Depending on the usage, machines are so built to fll in a Production line or work as a stand-alone machine. |
| Other Features |
| High pressure coolant tank is essenlially needed to pump in requisite amount of cutting oil. Adequale filtralion and chilling ensures that pure, chill coolant is re-circulated in the system. The chips and muck produced are transported to the chip bin by conveyors and chips chutes . Oil in the chips is extracted before it falls into the chip bin by a centrifuge. |
